The Vision
To create an organization that will supply a 100% natural product that can be successfully marketed to the Cosmetic, Medical, Equine, and Pharmaceutical and Homeopathic industries. To bring to the public a product that can cure, rejuvenate and pamper at a price that is affordable.
The Mission
To create a company with the management skills, equipment, representation, ability to sell, produce and package 600,000 kilo per year. Show a profitable return to investors and create employment. To do this with a product that will not be harmful to the environment and meet all goals within ten years. Glacial Marine Clay, known as Montmorillonite or Illite clay, mined in British Columbia Canada is that product.
History
Glacial clay has been around for millions of years. It has been used as a “cure all” by the aboriginal peoples of Western Canada since they started to hand down legends and myths about the clay’s miraculous healing powers. After learning about the qualities of the product, James McBride set out to form a company with an aim to supplying this natural wonder, to an “el natural” market niche around the world. As there was only one known registered mineral clay mine in existence in North America, the most important requirement was to secure another mineral clay deposit large enough to satisfy a market that has a potential of 600,000 kilos per year. This was achieved, after many months of prospecting. In the fall of 1998 there was a deposit discovered suitable for use within the cosmetic and medical industries. The deposit proved to have in access of 2,000,000,000 kilos of recoverable product and was located in a remote area not to accessible to transportation. The deposit was staked and registered with the Canadian Ministry of Lands and Mines. Leases were put into place between McBride and the marketing company to insure long-term supply of product.
The second most important task that had to be established was to find out if the product could be successfully marketed to an International public. Glacial Marine Clay Inc. was formed in 1998 to carry out the test marketing. Equipment had to be designed, and built, as there were no blue prints for processing this type of product. The finances, which set everything in motion, were limited to the resources of McBride and a limited number of small investors. Over the following five years product was test marketed in Europe, South America, Asia and Japan. While these markets were not large they provided the information that confirmed the acceptance of the public to purchase the product. Having established the public’s acceptance of the clay, plans were made to expose the product to major cosmetic, equine, homeopathic and pharmaceutical companies.
Preparations
The first processing equipment, which was hand made, has served the company for the past seven years. The product for the first five years was processed and shipped as a premix ready for use. The product is now processed, using new technological machinery, into a powder with a particle size ranging from a maximum of 41 microns to .01 microns. It is the ability to powder the product that makes it possible to successfully market to the larger companies. During processing into powder form the product is heated to a temperature of plus 240 degrees Fahrenheit to insure that there will be no contamination from Pathogenic Bacterium. The clay can now be shipped in its purest form; clients have the freedom to mix whatever they want. The product can be included in all types of formulations such as hair conditioner, shampoo, toothpaste and soaps. Facial and body masques can be formulated to client’s own specifications.
Availability
The product is available in bulk, packaged in 22.72-kilo (50 Lb) plastic bags that are placed in heavy-duty watertight plastic pails. The product is handled this way to guarantee against moisture contamination during shipment, ease of handling for the clients when mixing and good storage capability for the client, removing any chance of contamination. Alliances and agreements are being secured with packaging companies in the US, Taiwan and China to package large orders in tubes and sachets, if required. Freight prices, for air and sea, to all destinations have been negotiated at competitive rates.
Conclusion
With a proven product, professional representation, the machinery for processing and packaging in place and an experienced management team for guidance, the company can now take on supply of any amount of bulk. With the acquisition of a powdering machine and accessories, the company is in a position to process 50,000 kilos per month. Formerly operating under the name Carrie Cove Cosmetics Inc. while in the development phase, our new name, Glacial Marine Clay Inc., describes exactly who we are. Glacial Marine Clay Inc. This is the name that will appear on all documents and information leaflets. It is the intention of the company to sell only to those clients who will be marketing under their own brand name. Confidentiality agreements as to source of product and brand name protection will be in place and strictly adhered to.
