Q. Can bacteria be harmful to the body or skin?
It is possible, for this reason those companies supplying the market with inter-tidal clay, mix in, a strong anti-bacterial agent to guard against bacterial growth in hot climates. All Glacial Clay has basically the same analysis; the difference is in the preserving that nature has provided. One; the inter-tidal, has been exposed to the elements for thousands of years, subjected to sun light and the release of ozone, natural living organisms of the sea have lived and died in the clay. The colour has changed from the natural deep blue to a light gray green. The dry land clay has been covered by a natural overburden for the same length of time. Because of this natural protection the clay, when first taken from the mine, is a deep blue colour which indicates the retention of natural ozone. There is no chance of any contamination due to the overburden so the product is much purer. Dry-land clay will be a little darker green when dried.

Q. What about the difference in the other clays or mud that are on the market?
Dead Sea Mud is basically similar to Glacial Clay. The large difference is the level of sodium when it is first dug. It is dug on the shores of the Dead Sea and because of that, the salt levels are very high. It then has to be washed to remove the sodium and in doing so there is a loss of trace minerals. This is the largest selling clay in the world and its use dates back to Cleopatra and beyond. Moorbad Mud comes mainly from Austria. Mineral analysis is nothing like the Glacial Clays. This clay or mud is widely used in Spa’s all over the world and is very well accepted by the public. Sales are not as large as the Dead Sea Mud but are still substantial.

Q. If this is merely an ancient lump of mud how come you charge so much?
First of all it is a very rare lump of mud, extremely hard to locate. (gold is nothing but an inert lump of metal very hard to locate) The cost of recovering and processing this elusive element of nature is extremely time consuming and costly. Secondly, the benefits derived from clay that has been properly applied to the human body, far outstrip that of any other natural product sold on the world market today. Third, while this is a renewable resource, it takes at least 45,000 years.
